You no longer have to search your finances yourself.
BankPilot already structures and monitors your account activity. With the optional access for AI assistants you simply ask for that information.
Just ask
Instead of setting filters and scanning lists, you ask the way you would ask a person.
Only if you want it
Without your approval nothing about BankPilot changes. You set the access up yourself and can revoke it in your settings at any time.
Read only, never pay
The access exists only to read information. It cannot make payments or change anything about your account.
Explained simply
What is MCP, really?
MCP stands for “Model Context Protocol”. In short, it is a shared standard that lets an AI assistant access external data in a controlled way, much like BankPilot accesses your account through open banking.
Without MCP
With BankPilot MCP
Important: your assistant gets no access to your bank account. It asks BankPilot, and BankPilot answers with the information you released.
In three steps
How the connection works
No technical knowledge required.
Connect your assistant
In your AI assistant you add BankPilot as a connector. The interface differs per provider; the illustration is a mock-up.
https://bankpilot.eu/mcpRelease BankPilot
While connecting you sign in to BankPilot once and confirm the access. Only then can an assistant request any data at all.
An AI assistant wants to access your BankPilot data.
- Read transactions and categories
- Read rules and the payment monitor
- No payments, no changes
Just ask
From now on you ask right in the chat. Your assistant fetches the matching information from BankPilot.
Which payments are missing right now?
One expected payment is currently missing in the payment monitor: Miete Wohnung 2 · 890,00 €
Sample dialogue
You ask. BankPilot supplies the data.
Pick a question. The answer next to it is simulated and uses fictional sample data only.
Which payments are missing right now?
One expected payment is currently missing in the payment monitor:
Rent for flat 1 has arrived, and so have the utilities and Netflix.
Which payments could BankPilot not match to a rule?
I found four unmatched entries:
Shall I sort them by amount or by date?
Which rules do I have?
This sample account has four active rules:
Three of them arrived on schedule this month.
Were there any unusual movements?
Two entries deviate from the usual pattern:
Both are higher than comparable entries over the past three months and match no rule.
Which recurring payments do you see?
Recurring on a regular schedule:
The payments to Edeka repeat but follow no fixed amount.
How did my spending develop?
Based on the sample data for the past three months:
The rise in August comes mostly from two one-off payments.
Use cases
What can I ask?
BankPilot already knows your transactions, rules and monitoring. That is exactly what you can ask about.
Transactions
- Which payments happened last week?
- Show me the largest expenses.
- What did I pay at Edeka?
Rules
- Which rules do I have?
- Which rule matched most recently?
- Which payments match no rule?
Anomalies
- Which payments deviate from the pattern?
- Were there unusually high expenses?
- Which entry looks unusual?
Overview
- How did my income develop?
- How much did I spend last month?
- Summarise my week.
Rent payments
- Which rents are missing?
- Which rent payments were too low?
- Who paid on time this month?
Recurring
- Which subscriptions do I have?
- Which payments are due this month?
- Which amounts have changed?
The difference
Five steps become one question.
Depending on the question your assistant can summarise, filter and contextualise the data BankPilot supplies. Not every analysis turns out perfect automatically, but the data behind it always remains your own BankPilot data.

With an AI assistant
Privacy & control
You decide what your assistant may see.
Your data. Your decision. Your assistant.
Optional
The access only exists once you set it up and confirm it yourself.
Read only
Every function offered does nothing but read information.
No payments
There is no function that moves money or changes account data.
Revocable at any time
Your settings list every connection so you can disconnect them one by one.
No banking credentials for the assistant
BankPilot never sees your banking credentials in the first place. They stay with your bank and certainly never reach an AI assistant.
What is stored, and what is not
BankPilot keeps no extra copy of your financial data for this access: it answers with only what a given question needs. What is stored is the grant itself, until you revoke it. How your AI provider processes the conversation is governed by that provider's own privacy terms. Política de privacidad
For the technically curious
What is behind it
The assistant never talks to your bank. In between sits BankPilot with the data you have already connected and structured.
https://bankpilot.eu/mcpThese are the functions available to the assistant
get_monitoring_statusPayment monitor: rules with expected and actual paymentslist_transactionsTransactions, filterable by period, category, amount and rulelist_rulesThe rules you set upget_accountsAn overview of your connected accounts
All four functions are marked read-only and change nothing. There is deliberately no function that writes.
Sign-in and consent
The connection uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The assistant receives a time-limited token for your account, never your password. Every grant appears separately in your settings, where you can revoke it.
AI assistants
With your preferred assistant
BankPilot speaks the open MCP standard. In principle any assistant that can add remote MCP servers will work.
ChatGPT
Set up as a connector and tested by us.
Claude
Can be added as a custom connector.
Other MCP clients
Other assistants with MCP support can use the same address. Which ones those are is up to the provider.
Frequently asked questions
What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an AI assistant access external data in a controlled way. For BankPilot that means your assistant may query your BankPilot information once you set it up. It gains no access to your bank account.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. You add BankPilot as a connector in your assistant, sign in once and confirm the access.
Can the AI transfer money?
No. The access is strictly read-only. There is no function that could initiate a payment.
Can the AI change my bank account?
No. There is no write access, neither to your bank account nor to your data inside BankPilot.
Do I have to enable this?
No. It is entirely optional. Without your approval BankPilot works exactly as before.
Does it cost extra?
No. Access for AI assistants is included in your BankPilot plan.
What data can my assistant see?
The information BankPilot already keeps for you: transactions, categories, your rules, the payment monitor and an overview of connected accounts. Only what a given question needs is answered.
Is my data used to train AI models?
BankPilot keeps no separate copy of your data for this access and does not use your questions for training. What your AI provider does with the conversation follows that provider's own privacy terms, so please check them with the provider you use.
How do I disconnect again?
Your BankPilot settings list every connected application separately, and you can disconnect them there. The assistant loses access immediately afterwards.
Your finances. Your questions. Your control.
Set up the optional access for your AI assistant and work with your BankPilot data in a new way: in plain language, read-only, disconnectable whenever you want.
